- ––This edition investigates how practitioners navigate writing, design, and publishing to more freely produce liberation-oriented work, serve our movements, and collectively build connection, community, solidarity, and alternative infrastructure. It features guest pieces by Nour Arafat and Venessa Afi, in addition to collage work responding to similar themes, created by participants from the workshop held in conjunction with the launch of the inaugural MAKEREADY issue in 2024.
- Circulation of Eros: On the Unpublishable & the Intimate reflects on how independent publishing enables writing and design practices that escape institutional enclosures and censorship. Through the tactile language of chapbooks and small-press collaboration, Afi Venessa Appiah situates her work within a lineage of Pan-African publishing, where intimacy, eros, and collective making are infrastructures of solidarity and resistance.
- Reflections from an Experimental Independent Print Media-Making Practice navigates and expands media-making possibilities within movement building, looking at how our skills can serve our movements, and print publishing as the autonomy to reimagine what is possible. Palestinian cultural organizer Nour Arafat offers a model for extrapolating core publishing processes into movement struggles, as one aspect of a plurality of liberation strategies.
